Journey to Living Abroad
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live abroad?
I have always wanted to live in the tropics. though Hawaii and Puerto Rico are part of the United States they are not cheap, at least Hawaii anyway and seem to be very far away from the family.
I have been searching to find a way to have my cake and eat it, too. My choice is Belize. A very small country in Central America that borders the Southern part of Mexico. It is only a two hour flight from Atlanta, 2.5 hours from Dallas and 3 hours from Los Angeles. Since my daughter is so afraid of flying over the ocean this makes it even easier.
Belize is the ONLY English speaking country south of the USA.
Who knew! It used to be called British Honduras, hence the English language, not that there are not other languages spoken there. But, for me, being American that makes it much easier. The US dollar is worth 2 BLZ $, which helps my money go further.
I have been researching for a few years many options and choices. I have been studying on everything one needs to know in making your choices.
That is why I decided to start my site Discover to Living Abroad. Please join me on my journey to living abroad. I have a list of tips for free when you signup, you can download ,as a place to start help you thinking about what, why and where you would like to go. Follow me and I will save you a lot of time discovering what it takes to move abroad.
Are the tropics for you? Or maybe Paris or French wine country? Or possibly somewhere in Asia? The possibilities are endless. You don't actually realize how many choices there are until you start listing all places you would like to visit.
Ask yourself if you are looking for a specific climate? Are you wanting to beach in the summer AND ski in the winter? Just start your mind wondering around the globe and you will find YOUR ANSWERS.
Once you start imagining all the things in you would like to enjoy on a regular basis you will soon be able to narrow down your choice. In the back of my head I always imagined Tahiti or the like. Talk about far away from the family, WOW. Maybe too far from other places to see and visit. It was a process for me to narrow down the location. For me, since living in the tropics has been a lifelong dream, that part was easy.
